Rodrigo Resck 

Architect and Urban Planner graduated from the University of São Paulo – USP-EESC (2007).  He holds a master’s degree in Urbanism and Territorial Management from the Université Paul Cezanne – Aix-Marseille III (France) and Università degli Studi di Genova (Italy) (2010)

He is a professor of the course “Urban Design Projects, Taller-E” (2011 – Current) at the School of Architecture Design and Arts of the Universidad Nacional de Asunción (FADA-UNA), where he coordinated the module of Parallel Pilot Project (PP3-Paraguay) of the ADU_2020 Program of the European Community (Alfa Framework) (2012) . He taught several subjects over many  semesters in order to gain a wider understanding of the curricula (2015-2017). 

Rodrigo is a member of the Center for Research, Development and Innovation in the same institution (CIDi). He directed and wrote a project funded by the National Council for Science and Technology in Paraguay (CONACYT – ProCiencia) called City + Water. The aim of the research is to understand a central component of the urban ecosystem (water), and how it can be quantified and qualified in the scale of a metropolitan region. This is the content of his first book, currently in revision for print by the university press.  He is also a member of Colectivo Aqua Alta, a non-profit interdisciplinary group for applied research of socio-environmental issues that started with the first Paraguayan Pavilion at the 14th International Architecture Exhibition of the Biennale di Venezia (2014).

As a practicing architect, he is focused in industrial facilities, especially in the pharmaceutical sector, having an extensive knowledge of its processes and international requirements. He is currently working with facilities and warehouses for the plastic industry. He also designs and builds at different scales and types of programs in Paraguay. 

As a recipient of the Fulbright-CAL Scholarship (2020) his current area of research is Urban Planning for Development, with emphasis on the impact of industries and systems of production in the metropolitan regions. He will focus his research on how changes in production will transform the overall urban dynamics of industrial areas, exploring comparative methods between different regions including the Global South.
